Small Business Development Center to Offer Free Sunrise Seminar for Restaurants March 5, 2008

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – February 13, 2008 – The Calvert County office of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Southern Maryland will offer a special Sunrise Seminar for Restaurants on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Calvert Marine Museum Auditorium in Solomons.


The seminar will help restaurant owners and managers gain useful insight on how to improve operations and run a restaurant business more efficiently. Attendees will get tips on customer service, staffing management, fiscal fitness and customer retention. The seminar is designed both for people who currently manage a restaurant and those who are thinking about opening one.


The Sunrise Seminar for Restaurants is co-sponsored by the Calvert County Department of Economic Development and is provided at no charge, but pre-registration is required. Free Employment Classified Listings for Local Businesses

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – January 22, 2008 – The New Year often brings an opportunity for new business initiatives and expansion efforts and the associated need to hire new employees. If your Calvert County-based business seeks a fresh – and free – way to find employees, the Calvert County Department of Economic Development’s online classified ads is a useful tool.

While the service is free, registration is required and the service is available only to companies with physical locations in Calvert County, Md. Once registered, business owners can add, edit, renew or remove employment listings at any time. Listings are valid for 30 days and if the position has not been filled within that time, it is possible to renew the listing for another 30 days.
